5:30 Studio doors open for questions and open practice
6-7:30pm CLASS “Jardineres” essentials for life-long tango. This is not a beginner course, it is an essentials / Beginnings progressive series diving into seeking equality in the dance, connections, intentional movements, listening and March will focus on changing directions (with the music and your partner!). “Jardineres” because tango is like native gardening. If you ignore the essentials, it starts to wither and wilt.
7:30pm “Gems of Wisdom from Monica Paz” - Video Instruction - a segment between the two classes to work together.
8-9:30pm CLASS “El Roce” 8 Cortado - in this more advanced course we will be diving deep into what truly is the 8 cortado! There is so much complexity and possibilities to explore in this seemingly and often mistook “move.” We will be diving deep into how to listen instead of guess and “I just do this.”
5 weeks is not enough to explore all the richness of el 8 cortado! It will be very fun and technique driven, too. We’ll be working on how to bring our work out from flats, for the followers, and begin raising our movements with the floor in higher heels… while still using our heels!
