50-minute private lessons for one or two people. Book a single lesson, or save with a bundle — everything is scheduled and paid securely through our Acuity scheduler.
★Buying a bundle of 3 or 7? You’ll need to create an account. Sign up with the email you purchase with, so your lessons stay saved to your account and your code works every time you book. Just booking a single lesson? An account isn’t required.
Acuity’s checkout can be a little clunky the first time — so here’s the exact play-by-play. We promise it gets easy fast.
Buying a bundle? Follow all 7 steps in order. · Just booking one single lesson? Skip straight to Steps 5–6 — no account or login needed.
1
Buying a bundle? Start here. Booking a single lesson only? Skip to Step 5. Copy your sphere’s coupon code before you begin.
2
Sign up for an account so you can manage your bundle and appointments. Sign up once, then log in each time.
3
Purchase your bundle. Your email now appears top-right — click it any time for Appointments and Manage Codes.
4
Enter your coupon code in the “Coupon code” box if you’re Community or Scholarship sphere. Monthly Members: use your 10% code.
5
Single lesson? Start hereReturn to this page and click “Book a Lesson.” This opens the scheduler to pick your day and time.
6
Pick a day & time, then choose one of the 3 prompts. For recurring, set frequency to 3 or 7 to match your bundle. (Bundle users: check your email shows top-right. A single lesson needs no account.)
7
Bundles: don't skip!Bundle users — this is the important one. On the final checkout, skip the “Payment information” card (don’t re-enter your card). Reset the Tip to 0% (tipping is there for Benefactors). Then click the “+” on “Package, gift, or coupon code” and choose “View your redeemable codes ›” to apply your bundle. Re-entering your card here is what accidentally charges you again.
⚠︎ The codes for single lessons end in -APT. The bundle codes don’t. Using the wrong one is the most common reason a code won’t apply — double-check the ending.
Prefer to pay another way? Card payment through the scheduler is the way to go, especially for your first lesson. Once we’ve met, we can arrange Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check for future lessons — just email Graham and I’ll set it up on my end.
The things students ask most before their first private lesson.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes if purchasing a bundle of 3 or 7 lessons. Yes if subscribing to a monthly membership. Not necessary to create an account if you’re just booking one lesson.
I bought a Bundle-3 or Bundle-7 of private lessons — how do I manage it?
Make sure you sign(ed) up for an account with the same email used to buy a bundle of private lessons. When signed into your account you will see how many lessons remain in your bundle(s), and it will also ask if you would like to use your bundle to book a lesson.
Why is there a Tip section on checkout?
For Benefactor Sphere folk to contribute beyond the Sustaining (Standard) Sphere, paying it forward. Also, our Sustaining rate for private lessons is $85–100 for drop-ins, and we set the app to $85.
My coupon code (Bundle-3 or Bundle-7) isn’t working — what do I do?
Sign up for an account. Use the same exact email address used to purchase your bundle. Puerta al Tango is unable to change your status to having an account. Without having an account it is quite difficult to manage bundles. If you’re still having trouble, please email me at graham@puertatango.com.
How do I check how many bundle lessons I have left?
Login to your account. In the upper right-hand corner you will see your email address. Click on it and a drop-down menu will appear listing: Appointments, Manage Codes, Logout. Click on Manage Codes.
How do I set up recurring lessons?
When selecting the day of the week and the time of day you’d like a recurring lesson, a pop-up window will appear with three prompts: Select and continue, Select and add another time, and Select and make recurring. Choose “Select and make recurring,” then set the number (#) of recurring lessons to either 3 or 7.
What’s the difference between “Discount Codes” and “Package, Gift & Coupon Codes”?
Discount Codes are part of the 4 Spheres of Contribution we have at Puerta al Tango. Package / Coupon Codes are generated by Acuity after purchasing a Bundle-3 or Bundle-7.
What is a “waitlist” and why should I consider it?
Cancellations and rescheduling happen quite often, so a time and day that would be ideal for you may open up and become available at a later date. You’ll have the opportunity to accept the waitlisted time slot or not.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Reschedule or cancel through the Acuity online scheduler any time up to 14 hours before the lesson. If it’s less than 14 hours before the lesson, you’ll need to text me. Depending on the situation, there may be a fee. For the full policy, see our Policies & Handbook.
Do I need — or can I bring — a partner or friend?
For a regular group class or practica, feel free to come solo or with a friend or group. For a private lesson, feel free to come solo or with a partner, but please do let me know ahead of time. Group privates = no drop-ins without approval from the group booking the 2-hour private lesson.
Can I pay with Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check?
We prefer private lessons to be booked through the Acuity scheduler, which is linked to Stripe and Apple Pay (credit card). Your first private lesson needs to be through the system. Once we’ve had a chance to meet and work together, we can set up at the studio how to pay via cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle — but this process I have to do on the backend of the scheduler. It’s possible, but I prefer to only arrange it in person after the initial introductory private lesson.
“Graham is an incredible teacher, and his lessons come from a place of deep experience and genuine kindness — a zen, martial artist/dancer! His gentle humor and clarity in my private lesson was supremely good. I think he severely under charged, but I’m grateful he came to Maine; we had a good time. Especially with the Game of Rondas! Highly recommend participating in this!”
