Best plan is to just Begin and dive right in.
There are 3 Beginnings (Compás) classes a week starting December 1, 2024. We encourage you to feel welcome and drop-in to any of these classes - prices listed here.
Check out our Weekly Schedule for a calendar visual!
“When should I begin? What classes can I take as a beginner?”
We encourage you to drop-in and begin with any/all of our weekly Compás (means both navigational compass & also a musical measure). $17.50 single drop-in. Punchcards are a better deal. “What class do I begin with?” - any free class or any “Compás” named class. Tango is not really linear in how it may be best learned. It is a circular understanding with no beginning or end… kind of like life… we have the present and there is so much to explore in between. Drop on in and begin with us!
Dress clean and casual. Jeans & tees are totally fine. Please be cautious with strongly scented clothing or perfumes/colognes due to allergies of others.
Shoes - start with what you have that is comfortable and thinnest sole you have. We have a few pair of sneaker slips (wrist bands for sneaker toe boxes) to pivot with.
All are welcome! Even if you think you can’t dance, we believe you can tango!

Argentine tango is social. Imagine tai chi blended with film noir blended with just good chill vibes with a diverse group of people. It is finesse that strengthens. It is a surrender that frees one up into a greater sense of self and understanding. It is challenging! It is rewarding. Too often it is shown in steps and patterns. We focus on understanding movement and opening the doors.
No partner necessary.
2 left feet welcome.
Bring thick socks and/or comfortable shoes and thin-soled shoes.
Dress casual and comfortable.
This is a safe space environment. All are welcome who care about the welfare and growth of others.
